The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked, "Which people are the best?"He replied, "My generation, then those who follow them, then those who follow them. After that there will come a people whose testimony races ahead of their oath and whose oath races ahead of their testimony."
حدثنا عثمان بن أبي شيبة وعمرو بن رافع قالا حدثنا جرير عن منصور عن إبراهيم عن عبيدة السلماني قال
سئل رسول الله ﷺ أي الناس خير قال قرني ثم الذين يلونهم ثم الذين يلونهم ثم يجيء قوم تبدر شهادة أحدهم يمينه ويمينه شهادته
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Testimonies, Chapter on not bearing witness to a false testimony when asked to, hadith 2652, 3651, 6658, and elsewhere, and Muslim in the Book of the Virtues of the Companions, Chapter on the virtue of the Companions, then those who follow them, then those who follow them, hadith 2533, from the hadith of Mansur, through him.
