Umar bin Khattab addressed us at al-Jabiyah and said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood among us as I now stand among you and said, 'Honor me by treating my companions well, then those who follow them, then those who follow them. After that, lying will spread until a man will testify without being asked to testify and swear an oath without being asked to swear.'"

خطبنا عمر بن الخطاب بالجابية فقال إن رسول الله ﷺ قام فينا مثل مقامي فيكم فقال احفظوني في أصحابي ثم الذين يلونهم ثم الذين يلونهم ثم يفشو الكذب حتى يشهد الرجل وما يستشهد ويحلف وما يستحلف
Sourcing. Its chain is sahih. Ahmad (1/26) and Nasai in al-Kubra narrated it from Jareer bin Abdul-Hameed with this wording. Jareer bin Hazim corroborated him, as found in Nasai's al-Kubra and elsewhere, and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih.Abu Dawud Tayalisi said in his Musnad, "Shuba informed us, from Abdul-Malik bin Umayr, who said, 'I heard Jabir bin Samura say, "Umar addressed us at Jabiyah..."'" and so on, as found in Musnad al-Farooq by Ibn Kathir (2/554).This report has corroborating witnesses with similar wording that are very numerous, reaching the level of mass transmission.
