Ayesha reported,

She was asked about the character of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. She replied, "Do you not read the Quran? 'And indeed, you are of a great moral character' [Qalam 68:4]."She said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was with his companions, and I prepared food for him, and Hafsa also prepared food for him. Hafsa got there before me, so I said to the servant girl, 'Go and knock over her bowl.' I caught up with her just as she was about to set it before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and I knocked it over. The bowl broke and the food spilled out."She continued, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gathered the broken pieces along with the food onto a leather mat, and they ate from it. Then he sent for my bowl and gave it to Hafsa, saying, 'Take a vessel in place of your vessel, and eat what is in it.' I saw no sign of displeasure on the face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."

حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة حدثنا شريك بن عبد الله عن قيس بن وهب عن رجل من بني سوءة قال

قلت لعائشة أخبريني

عن خلق رسول الله ﷺ قالت أو ما تقرأ القرآن {وإنك لعلى خلق عظيم} قالت كان رسول الله ﷺ مع أصحابه فصنعت له طعاما وصنعت له حفصة طعاما قالت فسبقتني حفصة فقلت للجارية انطلقي فأكفئي قصعتها فلحقتها وقد همت أن تضع بين يدي رسول الله ﷺ فأكفأتها فانكسرت القصعة وانتشر الطعام قالت فجمعها رسول الله ﷺ وما فيها من الطعام على النطع فأكلوا ثم بعث بقصعتي فدفعها إلى حفصة فقال خذوا ظرفا مكان ظرفكم وكلوا ما فيها قالت فما رأيت ذلك في وجه رسول الله ﷺ
