I taught a man the Quran, and he gave me a bow as a gift. I mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who said, "If you accept it, you will be accepting a bow of fire." So I returned it.

[Its chain is daif] Bayhaqi transmitted it, 6/125–126, from the hadith of Yahya bin Saeed through this route, and he noted its defect as being a broken chain. Atiya's transmission from his father is disconnected, as stated in Jami Tahsil and elsewhere, and it has another defect besides this.
