The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The finest thing a man eats is from his own earnings, and his child is from his earnings."
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة وعلي بن محمد وإسحق بن إبراهيم بن حبيب قالوا حدثنا أبو معاوية حدثنا الأعمش عن إبراهيم عن الأسود
قال رسول الله ﷺ إن أطيب ما أكل الرجل من كسبه وإن ولده من كسبه
[Sahih]. Nasai narrated it (7/241, Business Transactions, Chapter: Encouragement to Earn a Living, no. 4456, 4457) from the hadith of Amash through this same route, and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (Mawarid, no. 1092, 1093). It has many corroborating narrations, see no. 2290, 2292.
