Subayah al-Aslamiyyah, daughter of Harith, gave birth a little over twenty nights after the death of her husband. Once she had recovered from her postnatal period, she adorned herself in hopes of remarriage. People found fault with her for this, and her case was mentioned to the Prophet ﷺ, who said, "If she does so, her waiting period has already ended."

وضعت سبيعة الأسلمية بنت الحارث حملها بعد وفاة زوجها ببضع وعشرين ليلة فلما تعلت من نفاسها تشوفت فعيب ذلك عليها وذكر أمرها للنبي ﷺ فقال إن تفعل فقد مضى أجلها
Grading, hasan. Tirmidhi transmitted it in the Book of Divorce, Chapter on What Has Been Related About a Pregnant Woman Whose Husband Has Died and She Gives Birth, hadith 1193, from the hadith of Mansur, through this chain, and he said, we do not know of anything from Aswad from Abu Sunabil. This hadith has corroborating narrations in Nasai, hadith 3509, and elsewhere.
