His wife was pregnant, and he said to her, "Allow me, in good will, to give you a single divorce." So he pronounced one divorce against her, then went out to pray. When he returned, she had already given birth.He exclaimed, "What is wrong with her? She has tricked me. May Allah trick her!"Then he went to the Prophet ﷺ and mentioned what had happened. The Prophet ﷺ said, "The decree has run its course before its appointed time. Now propose to her yourself."
