[Sahih] See no. 857 for its defect. Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Nikah, chapter on the prohibition of marrying women who cannot bear children, no. 2050, with a hasan chain, as a marfu narration, "Marry the loving, fertile woman, for I will be proud of your numbers among the nations." Ibn Hibban, Hakim, and Dhahabi graded it sahih, and it has many corroborating narrations.
