The Prophet ﷺ used to send someone out to the people to estimate the yield of their grapevines and fruit trees.
[Its chain is daif]. Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Zakat, Chapter on Estimating the Yield of Grapes, hadith 1604, from the hadith of Ibn Nafi with this wording. Saeed said he never heard anything from Attab. Tirmidhi graded it hasan, hadith 644, and Ibn Khuzayma and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih. Munziri said, "Its being a broken chain is evident," and so on.
