The Prophet ﷺ said, "When a man stays as a guest with people, he should not fast except with their permission."

This is a daif chain. Tirmidhi narrated it in the chapter of fasting, section on one who stays with a people and should not fast except with their permission, hadith 789, by way of Ayub bin Waqid Kufi, from Hisham, with a similar meaning, and he said, "This is a hadith munkar." Ayub is matruk, as stated in Taqrib. Tirmidhi then mentioned the route of Ibn Majah and said, "This hadith is also daif, and Abu Bakr is daif according to the scholars of hadith."
