Sourcing, [sahih] Tirmidhi narrated it in Sawm, chapter on joining Shaban to Ramadan, no. 736, from the hadith of Mansur, with this wording, and he said it is hasan. It has sahih corroborating narrations in Abu Dawud, no. 2336, and elsewhere. See the hadith that follows.
