The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say from the pulpit before the month of Ramadan, "The fast begins on such and such a day. We will begin early. Whoever wishes may begin early with us, and whoever wishes may delay."

Reference. Its chain of transmission is daif. Tabarani narrated it (Kabir 19/375), no. 880, from the hadith of Marwan bin Muhammad, with this same isnad, adding that he used to stand on the pulpit a day before Ramadan and say...Busiri said, "Its chain is sahih and its narrators are trustworthy, but it has been said that Qasim Abu Abdul-Rahman did not hear from any of the companions except Abu Umama."I say, the correct view is the opposite. See his biography in Tahzib Kamal and Mujam al-Kabir and elsewhere. However, the hadith is anomalous, contradicting the sahih hadiths. See no. 1650.
