Muawiya delivered a sermon in Homs, and in his sermon he mentioned that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had forbidden wailing over the dead.

[Sahih] Tabarani reported it in Al-Kabir, 19/373, no. 876, from the hadith of Ismail, in full.Abdullah bin Dinar al-Himsi (al-Shami) is daif (Taqrib). The majority graded him daif, but he was corroborated by the trustworthy Muhammad bin Muhajir al-Ansari. Their shared teacher, Hurayz (with the letter ha), is majhul (Taqrib). So the chain is daif, but the hadith is hasan due to corroborating narrations found in Bukhari, no. 1306, and Muslim, no. 936, and others.
