When they began to wash the Prophet ﷺ, a voice called out to them from within, "Do not remove the shirt of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."

Chain of transmission, [hasan]Mizzi related it in his Tahdhib (22/300) from the hadith of Abu Muawiya, with the same wording. Busiri said, "Its chain is daif due to the weakness of Abu Burda, whose name is Amr bin Yazid..."Hakim also related it (1/354) from Abu Qutayba Salim (in another copy, Salama bin Fadl) Adami, in Makkah, from Ibrahim bin Hashim Baghawi, who said, Abu Bakr bin Abu Shayba narrated to us, who said, Abu Muawiya narrated to us, who said, Abu Burda Murayd bin Abdullah narrated to us, with the same wording. He graded it sahih according to the criterion of the two Sheikhs (Bukhari and Muslim), and Dhahabi agreed with him (!)It has a corroborating witness in Abu Dawud and others, mentioned previously, hadith no. 1464.
