Saad bin Abu Waqqas came to us after he had lost his sight. I greeted him, and he asked, "Who are you?"I told him who I was, and he said, "Welcome, son of my brother. I have been told that you have a beautiful voice when reciting the Quran. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'This Quran was revealed with sorrow, so when you recite it, weep. If you cannot weep, then make yourselves weep, and chant it melodiously. Whoever does not chant it melodiously is not one of us.'"

قدم علينا سعد بن أبي وقاص وقد كف بصره فسلمت عليه فقال من أنت فأخبرته فقال مرحبا بابن أخي بلغني أنك حسن الصوت بالقرآن سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول إن هذا القرآن نزل بحزن فإذا قرأتموه فابكوا فإن لم تبكوا فتباكوا وتغنوا به فمن لم يتغن به فليس منا
