I was late one night after the Isha prayer during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When I arrived, he asked, "Where have you been?"I replied, "I was listening to the recitation of one of your companions. I have never heard recitation or a voice like his from anyone."She said, He got up and I went with him until he listened to him. Then he turned to me and said, "This is Salim, the freed slave of Abu Huzaifa. Praise be to Allah who has placed someone like this in my nation."
[Sahih] Ahmad narrated it (6/165) from Ibn Numayr, who said, Hanzala narrated it to us, with this chain. Busiri said, "This isnad is sahih, and its narrators are trustworthy."
