Whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ left this city, he would pray no more than two rakahs until he returned to it.
حدثنا أحمد بن عبدة أنبأنا حماد بن زيد عن بشر بن حرب
كان رسول الله ﷺ إذا خرج من هذه المدينة لم يزد على ركعتين حتى يرجع إليها
[Sahih] * Bishr bin Harb Nadabi was deemed daif by the majority, and Ajli said, "He is daif in hadith, but he is truthful" (Tahdhib). It has corroborating narrations in Bukhari, no. 1102, and Muslim, no. 689, and elsewhere.
