The Prophet ﷺ did something as a concession, but a group of people abstained from it out of piety. When word of this reached the Prophet ﷺ, he praised Allah and glorified Him, then said, "What is the matter with people who abstain from something I myself do? By Allah, I am the most knowledgeable of them about Allah and the most fearful of Him among them."
حدثنا عمر بن حفص حدثنا أبي حدثنا الأعمش حدثنا مسلم عن مسروق قال قالت
صنع النبي ﷺ شيئا ترخص فيه وتنزه عنه قوم فبلغ ذلك النبي ﷺ فحمد الله وأثنى عليه ثم قال ما بال أقوام يتنزهون عن الشيء أصنعه فوالله إني أعلمهم بالله وأشدهم له خشية
