Nafi reported,

Whenever Ibn Umar was asked about marrying a Christian or Jewish woman, he would say, "Allah has forbidden idolatresses to the believers, and I know of no greater idolatry than a woman saying that her Lord is Isa, when he is merely one of Allah's servants."
