"How I wish I could see the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when revelation comes down upon him."When the Prophet ﷺ was at Jirana, with a garment shading him and a group of his companions around him, a man came to him drenched in perfume and said, "Messenger of Allah, what do you say about a man who entered the state of ihram in a long robe after smearing himself with perfume?"The Prophet ﷺ paused for a moment, and then revelation came to him. Umar gestured to Yala to come closer, so Yala came forward and put his head under the garment. There he saw the Prophet ﷺ with his face flushed red, breathing heavily. He remained like that for a while, and then it lifted from him.He said, "Where is the man who was just asking me about the umrah?"The man was sought out and brought to the Prophet ﷺ, who said, "As for the perfume that is on you, wash it off three times. As for the robe, take it off. Then do in your umrah what you would do in your hajj."
حدثنا أبو نعيم حدثنا همام حدثنا عطاء وقال مسدد حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد عن ابن جريج قال أخبرني عطاء قال أخبرني صفوان بن يعلى بن أمية أن
ليتني أرى رسول الله ﷺ حين ينزل عليه الوحي فلما كان النبي ﷺ بالجعرانة عليه ثوب قد أظل عليه ومعه ناس من أصحابه إذ جاءه رجل متضمخ بطيب فقال يا رسول الله كيف ترى في رجل أحرم في جبة بعد ما تضمخ بطيب فنظر النبي ﷺ ساعة فجاءه الوحي فأشار عمر إلى يعلى أن تعال فجاء يعلى فأدخل رأسه فإذا هو محمر الوجه يغط كذلك ساعة ثم سري عنه فقال أين الذي يسألني عن العمرة آنفا فالتمس الرجل فجيء به إلى النبي ﷺ فقال أما الطيب الذي بك فاغسله ثلاث مرات وأما الجبة فانزعها ثم اصنع في عمرتك كما تصنع في حجك
