Uthman ordered Zayd bin Thabit, Saeed bin As, Abdullah bin Zubayr, and Abdul-Rahman bin Harith bin Hisham to copy them into the official codices. He told them, "If you and Zayd bin Thabit disagree about any point of Arabic in the Quran, write it in the dialect of Quraysh, for the Quran was revealed in their tongue." So they did.
