She informed him that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to test the believing women who emigrated to him with this verse, the saying of Allah, "Prophet, when the believing women come to you pledging allegiance to you" until His saying "Forgiving and Merciful" [Mumtahanah 60:12].Urwa said that Ayesha said, "Whoever among the believing women accepted this condition, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would say to her, 'I have accepted your pledge,' speaking the words only. By Allah, his hand never touched the hand of any woman during the pledge. He would only take their pledge by saying, 'I have accepted your pledge on that.'"Yunus, Muamar, and Abdul-Rahman bin Ishaq corroborated this, narrating from Zuhri. Ishaq bin Rashid narrated it from Zuhri, from Urwa and Amra.

أخبرته أن رسول الله ﷺ كان يمتحن من هاجر إليه من المؤمنات بهذه الآية بقول الله {يا أيها النبي إذا جاءك المؤمنات يبايعنك} إلى قوله {غفور رحيم} قال عروة قالت عائشة فمن أقر بهذا الشرط من المؤمنات قال لها رسول الله ﷺ قد بايعتك كلاما ولا والله ما مست يده يد امرأة قط في المبايعة ما يبايعهن إلا بقوله قد بايعتك على ذلك تابعه يونس ومعمر وعبد الرحمن بن إسحاق عن الزهري وقال إسحاق بن راشد عن الزهري عن عروة وعمرة
