Ibn Abbas was asked about Allah's statement, "except love for kinship" [Shura 42:23].Saeed bin Jubayr said, "It refers to the kinship of the family of Muhammad ﷺ."Ibn Abbas replied, "You have rushed to that conclusion. There was no clan of Quraysh in which the Prophet ﷺ did not have relatives. What he meant was, 'Except that you maintain the ties of kinship that exist between me and you.'"
حدثنا محمد بن بشار حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن عبد الملك بن ميسرة قال سمعت طاوسا
أنه سئل عن قوله {إلا المودة في القربى} فقال سعيد بن جبير قربى آل محمد ﷺ فقال ابن عباس عجلت إن النبي ﷺ لم يكن بطن من قريش إلا كان له فيهم قرابة فقال إلا أن تصلوا ما بيني وبينكم من القرابة
