Kaab bin Malik reported,

Kaab bin Malik reported that he was demanding repayment of a debt owed to him by Ibn Abu Hadrad in the mosque during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Their voices grew loud until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ heard them from inside his house. He came out to them, drew back the curtain of his chamber, and called out to Kaab bin Malik. He said, "Kaab."Kaab replied, "At your service, Messenger of Allah."The Prophet ﷺ gestured with his hand, indicating that he should reduce the debt by half.Kaab said, "I have done so, Messenger of Allah."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said to Ibn Abu Hadrad, "Get up and pay him."
