The Prophet ﷺ said, "I saw myself entering Paradise, and there I came upon Rumaysa, the wife of Abu Talha. Then I heard footsteps and asked, 'Who is this?' He replied, 'This is Bilal.' I also saw a palace with a maiden in its courtyard, so I asked, 'Whose is this?' He said, 'It belongs to Umar.' I wanted to enter it and take a look, but I remembered your sense of jealousy."Umar said, "May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, Messenger of Allah, would I ever feel jealous toward you?"
قال النبي ﷺ: رأيتني دخلت الجنة، فإذا أنا بالرميصاء- امرأة أبي طلحة-، وسمعت خشفة، فقلت: من هذا؟ فقال: هذا بلال. ورأيت قصرا بفنائه جارية، فقلت: لمن هذا؟ فقال: لعمر. فأردت أن أدخله، فأنظر إليه، فذكرت غيرتك. فقال عمر: بأبي وأمي يا رسول الله أعليك أغار؟
Bukhari related it in Merits of the Companions (3679) and Muslim in Merits of the Companions (2394-20), both from the hadith of Muhammad bin Munkadir, from Jabir bin Abdullah, who said, and he mentioned it. This is the wording of Bukhari, and the wording of Muslim is similar. In it, "I entered Paradise and saw in it a house, or a palace..." and at the end of it, "So Umar wept and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, or would you be jealous of me?'" In a wording of Bukhari, "I entered Paradise, or I came to Paradise, and I saw a palace, so I said, 'Whose is this?' They said, 'It belongs to Umar bin Khattab.' I wanted to enter it, but nothing prevented me except my knowledge of your jealousy."Bukhari related it in Marriage (5226) from Muhammad bin Abu Bakr Muqaddami, Mutamir narrated to us, from Ubaydullah, from Muhammad bin Munkadir, from Jabir, and he mentioned it. In a wording of Bukhari, "I entered Paradise, and there I was with a palace of gold, so I said, 'Whose is this?' They said, 'It belongs to a man from Quraysh.' So nothing prevented me from entering it..." Bukhari related it in Dream Interpretation (7024) from Amr bin Ali, Mutamir bin Sulayman narrated to us, Ubaydullah bin Umar narrated to us, from Muhammad bin Munkadir, through the same chain, and he mentioned it.
