While we were sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he said, "While I was asleep, I saw myself in Paradise, and there was a woman performing ablution beside a palace. I asked, 'Whose palace is this?' They replied, 'This belongs to Umar.' I remembered his sense of honor, so I turned away."Umar, who was present in the gathering, wept and then said, "Would I feel jealous concerning you, Messenger of Allah?"
بينما نحن عند رسول الله ﷺ جلوس، فقال رسول الله ﷺ: بينما أنا نائم رأيتني في الجنة، فإذا امرأة تتوضأ إلى جانب قصر، فقلت: لمن هذا؟ قالوا: هذا لعمر، فذكرت غيرته، فوليت مدبرا، فبكى عمر وهو في المجلس، ثم قال: أو عليك يا رسول الله أغار؟
Bukhari related it in the Book of Marriage (5227), and Muslim in the Merits of the Companions (2395), both through Abdullah bin Wahb, from Yunus, from Zuhri, who said, Ibn Musayab told me, from Abu Hurairah, and he mentioned it. The wording is Bukhari's.In another wording from Bukhari, "Abu Hurairah said, so Umar bin Khattab wept, then said, 'Would I feel jealousy over you, may my father and mother be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah?'" Bukhari related it in the Book of Interpretation of Dreams (7023) from Saeed bin Afir, who said, Layth told me, who said, Aqeel told me, from Ibn Shihab, who said, Saeed bin Musayab told me, that Abu Hurairah, and he mentioned it.
