The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was seated when we heard a commotion and the voices of children. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ got up, and there was an Abyssinian woman dancing with children gathered around her.He said, "Ayesha, come and look."So I came and rested my chin on the shoulder of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, watching her over the space between his shoulder and his head.He kept asking me, "Have you had enough? Have you had enough?"I kept saying, "No," wanting to see how high my standing was with him.Then suddenly Umar appeared, and the people scattered away from her.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Truly I see the devils among humans and jinn fleeing from Umar."So I went back.
كان رسول الله ﷺ جالسا فسمعنا لغطا وصوت صبيان، فقام رسول الله ﷺ، فإذا حبشية تزفن والصبيان حولها، فقال: يا عائشة تعالي فانظري. فجئت فوضعت لحيي على منكب رسول الله ﷺ، فجعلت أنظر إليها ما بين المنكب إلى رأسه، فقال لي: أما شبعت، أما شبعت قالت: فجعلت أقول لا لأنظر منزلتي عنده، إذ طلع عمر قلت: فارفض الناس عنها، قالت: فقال رسول الله ﷺ: إني لأنظر إلى شياطين الإنس والجن قد فروا من عمر. قالت: فرجعت.
Tirmidhi (3691) and Nasai in Kubra (8908) both narrated it through the route of Zayd bin Hubab, who said, Kharija bin Abdullah bin Sulayman bin Zayd bin Thabit informed me, who said, Yazid bin Ruman informed us, from Urwa, from Ayesha, and he related it. Tirmidhi said, "Hasan sahih gharib by this route." Its chain is hasan because of Kharija bin Abdullah, for there is disagreement about him, but his hadith is hasan when he does not contradict others and does not bring anything that is criticized as objectionable.His saying, "tazfin," means she dances, and the root of zafn is playing and pushing. His saying, "the people scattered away from her" means they dispersed.
