Ayesha reported,

When the Prophet ﷺ was taken on the night journey to the Aqsa Mosque, he began telling the people about it the next morning. Some who had believed in him and accepted his truthfulness turned away, and a group rushed to Abu Bakr and said, "Have you heard about your companion? He claims he was taken last night to Jerusalem."Abu Bakr asked, "Did he really say that?"They replied, "Yes."He said, "If he said it, then he has spoken the truth."They said, "You believe him when he claims he went to Jerusalem last night and returned before morning?"He answered, "Yes, I believe him in what is far greater than that. I believe him concerning news from the heavens that comes to him morning and evening."It was for this reason that Abu Bakr was called al-Siddiq, the Truthful.
