Jabir reported, "We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a military campaign. A group of people wearing woolen garments came to the Prophet ﷺ from the direction of the west and met him at a small hill. They were standing while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was seated.I said to myself, 'I should be wary of them and stand between them and him, lest they assassinate him.' Then I thought, 'Perhaps he is in private conversation with them.' Still, I went over and stood between them and him.I memorized four statements from him, which I count off on my fingers. He said, 'You will wage war on the Arabian Peninsula, and Allah will grant its conquest. Then Persia, and Allah will grant its conquest. Then you will wage war on the Romans, and Allah will grant its conquest. Then you will wage war on the Dajjal, and Allah will grant his defeat.'"Nafi said, "Jabir, we do not think the Dajjal will emerge until Rome is conquered."
Muslim narrated it in the chapter on tribulations (38:2900), from Qutayba bin Saeed, who said, Jareer narrated to us, from Abdul-Malik bin Umayr, from Jabir bin Samura, from Nafi bin Utba, and he related it.
