There was a tree trunk that the Prophet ﷺ used to stand by when delivering sermons. When the pulpit was made for him, we heard the trunk make a sound like the moaning of a pregnant camel, until the Prophet ﷺ came down and placed his hand upon it.
كان جذع يقوم إليه النبي ﷺ، فلما وضع له المنبر سمعنا للجذع مثل أصوات العشار، حتى نزل النبي ﷺ فوضع يده عليه.
Bukhari related it in the chapter on Friday prayer (918) from Saeed bin Abu Maryam, who said, Muhammad bin Jafar narrated to us, who said, Yahya bin Saeed informed me, who said, Ibn Anas informed me, that he heard Jabir bin Abdullah say... and he mentioned it.He also related it in the chapter on the signs of prophethood (3584) through another route from Jabir bin Abdullah, that the Prophet ﷺ used to stand by a tree or a palm trunk on Friday, and a woman from the Ansar, or a man, said, "Messenger of Allah, shall we not make a pulpit for you?" He said, "If you wish." So they made a pulpit for him. When Friday came, he went to the pulpit, and the palm trunk cried out like a child crying. Then the Prophet ﷺ came down and embraced it, and it moaned like a child being soothed. He said, it was weeping over the remembrance of Allah it used to hear near it.He also related it in the chapter on the signs of prophethood (3585) through another route from Jabir, who said, "The masjid was roofed over palm trunks, and when the Prophet ﷺ delivered a sermon, he would stand by one of these trunks. When the pulpit was made for him and he stood on it, we heard that trunk make a sound like the sound of a pregnant she-camel, until the Prophet ﷺ came and placed his hand on it, and it fell silent."
