We came to Hudaybiyyah with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and we numbered fourteen hundred men. At the well were fifty sheep, but its water was not enough to quench their thirst. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat at the edge of the well and either made a supplication or spat into it. The water then gushed forth, so we drank our fill and drew water for our needs.
Muslim narrated it in "Jihad and Expeditions" (1807:132) through several chains from Ikrima bin Ammar, who said, Iyas bin Salama narrated to me, saying, my father narrated to me, saying, "We came to Hudaybiya," then he mentioned the hadith in full.
