Imam Ahmad narrated it (17150) from Abdul-Rahman bin Mahdi, who said, Muawiya bin Salih told us, from Saeed bin Suwayd Kalbi, from Abdullah bin Hilal Sulami, from Irbad bin Sariya, who related the hadith. From this same route, Ibn Abu Asim narrated it (409), as did Ajurri in al-Shariah (948). Its chain is hasan because of Saeed bin Suwayd Kalbi, and the discussion has already been given in detail above.On this subject there is also a report from Abu Umama, who said, I said, "O Prophet of Allah, what was the very beginning of your affair?" He said, "The prayer of my father Ibrahim, the glad tidings of Isa, and my mother saw that a light came forth from her that illuminated the palaces of Syria." Imam Ahmad narrated it (22261), as did Tabarani in al-Kabir (7729) and Bayhaqi in al-Dalail (1/83), all of them through the hadith of Faraj bin Fadala, who said, Luqman bin Amir told us, I heard Abu Umama relate the hadith. Faraj bin Fadala, who is Tanukhi Shami, is extremely daif, to the point that Ibn Hibban said, "He inverts chains of transmission and attaches unreliable texts to sahih chains, so it is not permissible to rely on him."On this subject there is also a report from Ubada bin Samit with the wording, "I am the prayer of my father Ibrahim, and the last one to give glad tidings of me was Isa bin Maryam, peace be upon him." Its chain contains Bishr bin Umara and Ahwas bin Hakeem, both of whom are daif.
