By Allah, whenever the battle grew fierce, we would seek shelter behind him, and the bravest among us was the one who stood level with him. He meant the Prophet ﷺ.
كنا والله إذا احمر البأس نتقي به، وإن الشجاع منا للذي يحاذي به. يعني النبي ﷺ.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Jihad (1776:79), from Ahmad bin Junab Masissi, who reported from Isa bin Yunus, from Zakariya, from Abu Ishaq, who said, "A man came to Bara and asked him," then he recounted the story of Hunayn as related previously, then Bara continued, relating the same account.
