Jibreel was sitting with the Prophet ﷺ when he looked up at the sky and saw an angel descending. Jibreel said, "This angel has never come down since the day he was created until now."When the angel arrived, he said, "Muhammad, your Lord has sent me to you. Shall He make you a prophet-king, or a servant and messenger?"Jibreel said, "Humble yourself before your Lord, Muhammad."He replied, "Rather, a servant and messenger."

Imam Ahmad (7160), Bazzar in Kashf Astar (2462), and Abu Yaala (6105) all narrated it from Muhammad bin Fudayl, from Umara bin Abu Zura, who said, I do not know it except from Abu Hurairah, who said (then he related the hadith), and its isnad is sahih. It is said that this unnamed angel is Israfeel.
