The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Ayesha, if I wished, mountains of gold would travel along with me. An angel came to me whose waist was as broad as the Kaaba, and he said, 'Your Lord sends you greetings of peace and says to you: if you wish, you may be a prophet and a servant, and if you wish, you may be a prophet and a king.' I looked toward Jibreel, and he signaled to me to humble myself, so I said, 'A prophet and a servant.'"After that, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ never ate reclining. He would say, "I eat as a servant eats, and I sit as a servant sits."
عن عائشة به نحوه مع زيادة فيه: فكان رسول الله ﷺ بعد ذلك لا يأكل متكنا ويقول: أكل كما يأكل العبد، وأجلس كما يجلس العبد.

Abu Yaala (4920) narrated it from Muhammad bin Bakkar, who said, Abu Mashar narrated to us, from Saeed Maqburi, from Ayesha, who said, and then she mentioned it. Abu Mashar is Najeeh bin Abdul-Rahman Sindi. Ibn Main said, "He is nothing, his hadith is written only for spiritual matters." Ahmad said, "His hadith is confused in my view, he does not establish the chain properly, but I write down his hadith to weigh it against others." Abu Zura said, "He is truthful in hadith but not strong." Ibn Adi said, "Trustworthy narrators have narrated from him, and despite his weakness his hadith is written down."This is strengthened by what Imam Ahmad narrated in Zuhd (21) as a mursal report from Abdul-Rahman bin Mahdi, from Jareer bin Hazim, who said, I heard Hasan say, "Whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was brought food, he would order it, and it would be placed on the ground, and he would say, 'I am only a servant, I eat as a servant eats, and I sit as a servant sits.'"It has also been narrated through daif chains, and taken together, the hadith becomes hasan.
