He was asked about the gray hair of the Prophet ﷺ, and he replied, "When he oiled his head, none of it could be seen, but when he did not oil it, some of it was visible."
أنه سئل عن شيب النبي ﷺ؟ فقال: كان إذا دهن رأسه لم ير منه شيء، وإذا لم يدهن رئي منه.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Virtues (108:2344), from Muhammad bin Muthanna, who said, Abu Dawud Sulayman bin Dawud narrated to us, who said, Shubah narrated to us, from Simak bin Harb, who said, I heard Jabir bin Samura being asked about the gray hair of the Prophet ﷺ, and he mentioned it.
