Ibn Majah narrated it (1470) from Muhammad bin Khalaf Asqalani, who said, "Amr bin Abu Salama told us," and said, "This is what I heard from Abu Muayd Hafs bin Ghaylan, from Sulayman bin Musa, from Nafi, from Abdullah bin Umar," and he then related the hadith. The isnad is hasan because of Hafs bin Ghaylan and his teacher Sulayman bin Musa, who is Ashdaq, for both of them are trustworthy narrators (saduq).Busiri pointed to this when he said, "This isnad is hasan, since Sulayman bin Musa and Hafs bin Ghiyath fall short of the level of those known for precise memorization and accuracy, and its original version is found in the Sahihayn through the hadith of Ayesha and Ibn Abbas."Abu Yaala also narrated it, Sahl bin Habib Ansari told us, Asim bin Hilal, the imam of the masjid of Ayub, told us, Ayub Sakhtiyani told us, from Nafi, from Ibn Umar, who said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was shrouded in three white Suhuli garments." Ibn Adi mentioned it in Kamil (5/1873).Asim bin Hilal Bariqi is a disputed narrator, though there is no harm in relying on him for corroborating reports. However, after narrating a number of his hadiths, including this one, Ibn Adi said, "These hadiths from Ayub are not preserved as coming from Ayub."
