On the day the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered Madinah, everything in the city was lit up with light. On the day he died, everything in it grew dark. We had not yet dusted off our hands from burying the Messenger of Allah ﷺ before we found our hearts had changed.
Tirmidhi (3618), Ibn Majah (1631), and Ahmad (13830) narrated it, and Ibn Hibban (6634) and Hakim (3/57) graded it sahih, all of them through the route of Jafar bin Sulayman Dubai, who said, Thabit narrated to us, from Anas, who said, and then he related it.Tirmidhi said, "Gharib sahih."I say, Jafar bin Sulayman is truthful, his hadith is hasan, but he was corroborated. Hammad bin Salama corroborated him, from Thabit, with the same wording, as found in Ahmad (12234).
