Anas bin Malik reported,

Anas reported that on the day of Hunayn, Hawazin came with their children, women, camels, and livestock, arranging them in rows to outnumber the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When the two sides met, the Muslims turned and fled, retreating just as Allah described.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then called out, "Servants of Allah, I am the servant of Allah and His Messenger. Company of Ansar, I am the servant of Allah and His Messenger."Allah then routed the polytheists.Affan said, "We did not strike with a sword, nor thrust with a spear."On that day the Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever kills a disbeliever may take his belongings."Abu Talha killed twenty men that day and took their belongings.Abu Qatada said, "Messenger of Allah, I struck a man at the base of his neck while he was wearing a coat of mail, but I was pushed away from him. See who took it."A man stood up and said, "I took it. Compensate him for it and give it to me."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ never used to be asked for anything except that he gave it or remained silent. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ remained silent.Umar said, "No, by Allah, Allah will not grant it from one of His lions and then have him give it to you."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ laughed and said, "Umar has spoken the truth."Umm Sulaym had a dagger with her, and Abu Talha asked, "What is this you have with you?"She replied, "I took it so that if any of the polytheists came near me I could rip open his belly with it."Abu Talha said, "Messenger of Allah, do you not hear what Umm Sulaym is saying?"She said, "Messenger of Allah, kill those who are behind us among the freed captives. They have fled and abandoned you."He replied, "Allah has sufficed us and done well, Umm Sulaym."

عن أنس بن مالك

أن هوازن جاءت يوم حنين بالصبيان والنساء، والإبل والنعم، فجعلوهم صفوفا، يكثرون على رسول الله ﷺ فلما التقوا ولى المسلمون، مدبرين كما قال الله عز وجل، فقال رسول الله ﷺ: يا عباد الله، أنا عبد الله ورسوله، يا معشر الأنصار أنا عبد الله ورسوله فهزم الله المشركين قال عفان: ولم نضرب بسيف، ولم نطعن برمح فقال النبي ﷺ يومئذ: من قتل كافرا فله سلبه فقتل أبو طلحة يومئذ عشرين رجلا، وأخذ أسلابهم. قال: وقال أبو قتادة: يا رسول الله ضربت رجلا على حبل العاتق وعليه درع، فأجهضت عنه، فانظر من أخذها، فقام رجل، فقال: أنا أخذتها، فأرضه منها، و أعطنيها قال: وكان رسول الله ﷺ لا يسأل شيئا إلاأعطاه أو سكت، فسكت رسول الله ﷺ فقال عمر: لا والله لا يفيئها الله على أسد من أسده و يعطيكها فضحك رسول الله ﷺ وقال: صدق عمر قال: وكانت أم سليم معها خنجر، فقال أبو طلحة: ما هذا معك؟ قالت: اتخذته إن دنا مني بعض المشركين أن أبعج به بطنه، فقال أبو طلحة: يا رسول الله، ألا تسمع ما تقول أم سليم؟ قالت: يا رسول الله، اقتل من بعدنا من الطلقاء، انهزموا بك، قال: إن الله قد كفانا وأحسن يا أم سليم.
