Ibn Abu Hadrad reported,

Ibn Abu Hadrad said, "On that day I was riding with the cavalry of Khalid bin Walid. A young man from the tribe of Banu Jadhima, about my age, his hands bound to his neck with a rope, with a group of women gathered not far from him, called out to me, 'Young man.'I asked, 'What do you want?'He said, 'Will you take hold of this rope and lead me to those women so I may settle a matter with them, then bring me back, and you can do with me whatever you wish?'I replied, 'By Allah, what you ask is a small thing.'So I took hold of his rope and led him until he stood before them. Then he said,'Peace be upon you, Hubaysh, though life draws near its end.Tell me, when I sought you and found you at Halya, or came upon you at Khawaniq,was the lover not deserving of some favor, having borne the toil of journeying through night and burning noons?I bear no fault. I said, when our people were still together, ‘Grant me your love before some calamity strikes.’Grant me your love before fate drives us apart and the prince leads the beloved away in parting.For I have not betrayed any trust confided in me, nor has any sight pleased my eye since you have been gone,except that what has befallen my clan distracts me from love, save for the bond of mutual affection.'"Ibn Ishaq said, "Yaqub bin Utba bin Mughira bin Akhnas narrated to me from Zuhri from Ibn Abu Hadrad Aslami, who said that she replied,'And may you be greeted with seven, and ten, and an odd number, and eight in succession.'"He said, "Then I led him back, and his neck was struck off."

عن ابن أبي حدرد الأسلمي، قال

كنت يومئذ في خيل خالد بن الوليد، فقال لي فتى من بني جذيمة، وهو في سني، وقدجمعت يداه إلى عنقه برمة ونسوة مجتمعات غير بعيد منه: يا فتى فقلت: ما تشاء؟ قال: هل أنت آخذ بهذه الرمة، فقائدي إلى هؤلاء النسوة حتى أقضي إليهن حاجة، تم تردني بعد، فتصنعوا بي ما بدا لكم؟ قال: قلت: والله ليسير ما طلبت. فأخذت برمته فقدته بها، حتى وقف عليهن، فقال: اسلمي حبيش، على نفذ من العيش: أريتك إذ طالبتكم فوجدتكم بحلية أو ألفيتكم بالخوانق ألم يك أهلا أن ينول عاشق تكلف إدلاج السرى والودائق فلا ذنب لي قد قلت إذ أهلنا معا أثيبي بود قبل إحدى الصفائق ائي بود قبل أن تشحط النوى وينأى الأمير بالحبيب المفارق فإني لا ضيعت سر أمانة ولا راق عيني عنك بعدك رائق سوى أن ما نال العشيرة شاغل من الود إلا أن يكون التوامق قال ابن إسحاق: وحدثني يعقوب بن عتبة بن المغيرة بن الأخنس عن الزهري عن ابن أبي حدرد الأسلمي، (قال) قالت: وأنت فحييت سبعا وعشرا، وترا وثمانيا تترى. قال: ثم انصرفت به. فضربت عنقه.
