Asma bint Abu Bakr reported,

When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ halted at Dhu Tuwa, Abu Quhafa said to his youngest daughter, "My little daughter, take me up to Abu Qubays." His sight had failed by then.She said, "So I led him up the mountain."He asked, "My daughter, what do you see?"She replied, "I see a gathered mass of black."He said, "That is the cavalry."She said, "I also see a man running back and forth among that mass."He said, "My daughter, that is the marshal," meaning the one who directs the cavalry and rides ahead of it.Then she said, "By Allah, the mass has now spread out."He said, "By Allah, then the cavalry has been let loose. Hurry me back to my house."She brought him down quickly, but the cavalry caught up with him before he reached his house. The girl was wearing a silver necklace around her neck, and a man met her and snatched it from her neck.She said, "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered Mecca and went into the Mosque, Abu Bakr brought his father to him."When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw him, he said, "Why did you not leave the old man in his house so that I could come to him there?"Abu Bakr said, "Messenger of Allah, he has more right to walk to you than you have to walk to him."He seated him before himself, wiped his chest, and said to him, "Accept Islam." So he accepted Islam.Abu Bakr had brought him to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with his head white like the thaghamah plant, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Change the color of this hair of his."Then Abu Bakr stood up, took his sister's hand, and said, "I appeal by Allah and by Islam for my sister's necklace." But no one answered him.So he said, "My dear sister, count your necklace as a loss for the sake of Allah."

عن أسماء بنت أبي بكر قالت

لما وقف رسول الله ﷺ بذي طوى، قال أبو قحافة لابنة له من أصغر ولده: أي بنية اظهري بي على أبي قبيس. قال: وقد كف بصره. قالت: فأشرفت به عليه، فقال: يا بنية ماذا ترين؟ قالت: أرى سوادا مجتمعا قال: تلك الخيل قالت: وأرى رجلا يسعى بين ذلك السواد مقبلا ومدبرا، قال: يا بنية ذلك الوازع- يعني الذي يأمر الخيل ويتقدم إليها- قالت: قد والله انتشرالسواد، قال: قد والله إذا دفعت الخيل، فأسرعي بي إلى بيتي. فانحطت به، وتلقاه الخيل قبل أن يصل إلى بيته، وفي عنق الجارية طوق من ورق فتلقاها رجل فاقتلعه من عنقها قالت: فلما دخل رسول الله ﷺ مكة، ودخل المسجد أتاه أبو بكر بأبيه، فلما رآه رسول الله ﷺ قال: هلا تركت الشيخ في بيته حتى أكون أنا آتيه فيه؟ فقال أبو بكر: يا رسول الله، هو أحق أن يمشي إليك من أن تمشي إليه، قال: فأجلسه بين يديه، ثم مسح صدره ثم قال له: أسلم فأسلم، ودخل به أبو بكر على رسول الله ﷺ ورأسه كأنها ثغامة، فقال رسول الله ﷺ: غيروا هذا من شعره ثم قام أبو بكر فأخذ بيد أخته، فقال: أنشد بالله والإسلام طوق أختي، فلم يجبه أحد، فقال: يا أخية، احتسبي طوقك.
