When the Prophet ﷺ settled in Mecca during the Year of the Conquest, he circumambulated the Kaaba on a camel, touching the Corner with a Mihjan in his hand, and I was watching him.
لما اطمأن النبي ﷺ بمكة عام الفتح طاف على بعير يستلم الركن بمحجن في يده، وأنا أنظر إليه.
Abu Dawud narrated it (1878) from the hadith of Muhammad bin Ishaq, and it is found in Sirat bin Hisham (2/411). He said, Muhammad bin Jafar bin Zubayr told me, from Abdullah bin Abdullah bin Abu Thawr, from Safiya bint Shayba, and he mentioned it.Its chain is hasan because of Muhammad bin Ishaq. The wording given is that of Abu Dawud, which is abridged, while the wording of Ibn Ishaq in Sirat bin Hisham is what follows.
