When the Prophet ﷺ arrived in Mecca, the young boys of Banu Abdul-Muttalib came out to greet him. He carried one of them in front of him and another behind him.
لما قدم النبي ﷺ مكة استقبلته أغيلمة بني عبد المطلب، فحمل واحدا بين يديه، وآخر خلفه.
Bukhari narrated it in the chapter on Umrah (1798), from Mualla bin Assad, he said, Yazid bin Zuray narrated to us, he said, Khalid narrated to us, from Ikrima, from Ibn Abbas, who said, then he mentioned it.Bukhari also related it in the chapter on Dress (5966) through another route, in which Ibn Abbas said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came, having carried Qutham in front of him and Fadl behind him, or Qutham behind him and Fadl in front of him, so which of them was worse and which was better."
