The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Our camping place, if Allah wills, when Allah grants victory, will be al-Khayf, where they pledged one another to disbelief."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: منزلنا- إن شاء الله إذا فتح الله- الخيف، حيث تقاسموا على الكفر.
Bukhari narrated it in Maghazi (4284) and Muslim in Hajj (1314:345), both through the route of Abu Zinad, from Araj, from Abu Hurairah, who said, then he related it.His statement, "where they had sworn together upon disbelief," means they made a pact and covenant to boycott Banu Hashim and Muttalib until they handed the Prophet ﷺ over to them.Khayf is the place where Quraysh made their pact to boycott Banu Hashim and the Muslims, and it is Khayf Banu Kinana, which is Hajun, known today as Muhassab, because his house was taken by Aqeel bin Abu Talib, while Ali and Jafar did not inherit anything from it because they had become Muslims.
