Abu Musa Ashari reported,

News reached us of the emergence of the Prophet ﷺ while we were in Yemen, so we set out as emigrants to him. I went along with two brothers of mine, I being the youngest. One was Abu Burda, the other Abu Ruhm. He said either "among a group" or "among fifty-three, or fifty-two men of my people." We boarded a ship, but our ship cast us upon Najashi in Abyssinia. There we met Jafar bin Abu Talib and stayed with him until we all came together, arriving to meet the Prophet ﷺ just as he had conquered Khaybar. Some people were saying to us, meaning to the people of the ship, "We preceded you in emigration."Asma bint Umays, who was among those who came with us, entered upon Hafsa, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, to visit her. She had been among those who had emigrated to Najashi. Umar then came in to see Hafsa while Asma was with her. When Umar saw Asma, he asked, "Who is this?"Hafsa said, "Asma bint Umays."Umar said, "Is this the Abyssinian one, the seafaring one?"Asma replied, "Yes."He said, "We preceded you in emigration, so we have more right to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ than you do."She became angry and said, "Not at all, by Allah! You were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who fed your hungry and instructed your ignorant, while we were in the land of the distant and the hated in Abyssinia, and that was for the sake of Allah and His Messenger ﷺ. By Allah, I will not eat any food nor drink any drink until I mention what you said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. We were harmed and lived in fear, and I will mention that to the Prophet ﷺ and ask him. By Allah, I will not lie, nor deviate, nor add anything to it."When the Prophet ﷺ came, she said, "Prophet of Allah, Umar said such and such."He asked, "What did you say to him?"She replied, "I said to him such and such."He said, "He has no greater right to me than you do. He and his companions have one emigration, but you, the people of the ship, have two emigrations."She said, "I saw Abu Musa and the companions of the ship coming to me in groups, asking me about this hadith. There was nothing in the world that brought them more joy or was greater in their souls than what the Prophet ﷺ said to them."Abu Burda said, Asma said, "I saw Abu Musa, and he kept asking me to repeat this hadith to him."
