Suwayd bin Nuaman reported that he went out with the Prophet ﷺ in the year of Khaybar. When we reached as-Sahba, which is near Khaybar, he prayed the afternoon prayer, then called for provisions. Nothing was brought but parched barley meal, so he ordered it to be moistened. He ate and we ate with him. Then he rose for the sunset prayer, rinsed his mouth and we rinsed our mouths, then he prayed without performing ablution.
أنه خرج مع النبي ﷺ عام خيبر، حتى إذا كنا بالصهباء، وهي من أدنى خيبر، صلى العصر، ثم دعا بالأزواد فلم يؤت إلا بالسويق، فأمر به فثرى، فأكل وأكلنا، ثم قام إلى المغرب، فمضمض ومضمضنا، ثم صلى ولم يتوضأ.
Malik narrated it in Tahara (51) from Yahya bin Saeed, from Bashir bin Yasar, the freedman of Banu Haritha, from Suwayd bin Numan, that he informed him, saying, and then he mentioned it. Bukhari also narrated it in Maghazi (4195) via the route of Malik, with the same wording.
