Abu Hurairah came to Madinah with a group of his people while the Prophet ﷺ was at Khaybar, having appointed Sibaa bin Urfuta over Madinah.Abu Hurairah said, "I reached him while he was reciting in the dawn prayer. In the first rakat he recited 'Kaf Ha Ya Ayn Sad' [Maryam 19:1], and in the second 'Woe to those who give short measure' [Mutaffifin 83:1]."He said, "I said to myself, 'Woe to so-and-so. When he takes measure he takes it in full, and when he measures out for others he gives short.'"He continued, "When he had finished the prayer, he provided us with supplies until we reached Khaybar. The Prophet ﷺ had already conquered Khaybar, and he spoke to the Muslims, who gave us a share of their portions."
Ahmad (8552) and Bazzar - Kashf Astar (2281) narrated it, and Ibn Khuzayma (1039), Hakim (2/33), and Bayhaqi (409) all graded it sahih, all of them from the hadith of Khuthaym bin Irak, from his father Irak, from Abu Hurairah, who related it. Its isnad is hasan because of Khuthaym bin Irak, for his hadith is hasan.
