They were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of Hudaybiyyah, fourteen hundred in number or more. They stopped at a well and drew it dry, then came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He went to the well, sat on its edge, and said, "Bring me a bucket of its water." It was brought to him. He spat into it and made a supplication, then said, "Leave it for a while." So they quenched their thirst, watered their mounts, and drank their fill until they departed.
أنهم كانوا مع رسول الله ﷺ يوم الحديبية ألفا وأربعمائة أو أكثر، فنزلوا على بثر فنزحوها، فأتوا رسول الله ﷺ فأتى البتر، وقعد على شفيرها ثم قال: ائتوني بدلو من مائها فأتي به، فبصق، فدعا، ثم قال: دعوها ساعة فأرووا أنفسهم وركابهم حتى ار تحلوا.
