We arrived at Hudaybiyyah with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ numbering fourteen hundred. At the well there were fifty sheep, but its water was not enough to quench their thirst. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat on the edge of the well and either made a supplication or spat into it. The water then surged up, so we drank our fill and drew water for our needs.
قدمنا الحديبية مع رسول الله ﷺ ونحن أربع عشر مائة. وعليها خمسون شاة لا ترويها، قال: فقعد رسول الله ﷺ على جبا الركية فإما دعا، وإما بصق فيها، قال: فجاشت فسقينا واستقينا.
