The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I was granted victory through the east wind, and Aad were destroyed by the west wind."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: نصرت بالصبا، وأهلكت عاد بالدبور.
Tabarani related it in Al-Awsat (7837) and in Al-Sagheer (1069) from Mahmud bin Muhammad Wasiti, who said, Muhammad bin Aban Wasiti told us, Abu Awana told us, from Qatada, from Anas bin Malik, and he related it.Tabarani said, "No one related it from Qatada except Abu Awana, and Muhammad bin Aban related it alone."I say, Muhammad bin Aban Wasiti, Abu Hasan, has hasan hadith. Ibn Hibban mentioned him in Al-Thiqat, and Bahshal said, "He was a jurist," and Maslama said in Al-Sila, "Muhammad bin Aban Wasiti, whose kunya is Abu Hasan, is trustworthy."
